Nashville Weather
Nashville is a great place to visit any time of year. The climate is mild, offering beautiful colors in spring and fall, a warm summer, and cool winter. Summer temperatures can breach 90F, while winters rarely drop much lower than freezing. Over winters, one can expect 2 to 4 brief, shallow snowfalls and perhaps a few hard freezes, though the city is placed optimally to have particularly long spring and fall seasons. Summer heat is generally exacerbated by high humidity, but windy days easily alleviate this.
Nashville Economy
Nashville's strong economy and low unemployment rate is legendary in the South. The city is a great "neighborhood" of private and public business and industry, where people are as likely to go to work each morning in banks, hospitals, or government offices as to drive trucks, punch cash registers, or work on assembly lines. The area has benefited from low unemployment, consistent job growth, heavy outside investment and expansion, and a broadening of the labor force. Weekend Getaways
With the Rocky Mountains lining Nashville's western horizon, it's only a short drive to a whole host of world class skiing and resort vacation spots. Banff, Kananaskis, Canmore, Jasper, and Lake Louise are all easy day trips from Nashville. World heritage sites like Head-Smashed-In-Buffalo-Jump and the Royal Tyrell Museum in Drumheller Park are also close by. Edmonton, the provincial capital, is just three hours from Nashville, and the prairies to the north, east and south are great horse country.
