The Gulch is a neighborhood just south-west of the downtown area of Nashville, Tennessee. It is seen a trendy and hip area and is very popular with college students and locals alike. There are 25+ restaurants and cafes to choose from such as Burger Republic, which is a restaurant that specializes in burgers, they strive to provide excellent food and drink at affordable prices without sacrificing quality, you can actually order online and receive daily specials through your mobile device. If you prefer something lighter and healthy why not drop in to Ru San’s Sushi and Seafood restaurant, it has yearly events specifically at Halloween where the staff dress up and still provide service giving this restaurant a very laid back atmosphere. These are just a couple of restaurants that are available at The Gulch.

There is shopping available in this neighborhood which you will not get if in the downtown area. there is a small choice for shops but are very unique in their own way, such as Bullets & Mullets, this is a clothing store that is coming soon to the area. There is also a well known shop called Lucchese which I am sure most locals of the area and around most of the south will know about. Lucchese is a shop that will hand make boots that have that rustic and vintage touch that is missing from today's modern society.

Schools in The Gulch

There are many universities and colleges in the Nashville area but none are found in The Gulch Neighborhood itself. There is a huge selection of Elementary Schools in this area though but you decide what is best for your child as its not really a contest considering the amount of school in the area. In terms of Middle and High schools you have Martin Luther King Jr. (High School), Magnet High School, John Early Middle School and Head Magnet Middle School. You are spoilt for choice in the education department.

There are no local parks within the Gulch itself, but don't let the lack of green in the area get you down! There is a huge variety of parks in close proximity of the downtown area and in the surrounding areas of The Gulch which are still at a walkable distance.

Mapping The Gulch in Nashville, TN

The Gulch is only 9.7 miles from Nashville International Airport which is only 17 minutes by car depending on traffic of course. You just bypass the busy roads of Nashville and the fact that your are going out and not coming in also helps. It is only a short 2.7 miles to the downtown area which in all honesty you are better off walking if your health allows it. You would also see a lot of the local shops in The Gulch and you are able to drop in when you feel like it if you walked. The local universities are a pretty walkable distance also with Vanderbilt University only being 0.4 miles away. Being the the Universities mentioned in the areas are in close proximity with each other all of them are pretty short distances from The Gulch.
